The student will be able to design generalized bolted joints using the fundamental within this course.
The Student will be able to calculate and understand the importance of spring constants and stiffness in the design of a Bolted Joint.
The Student will understand the variables that can affect the capability of a Bolted Joint and be able to quantify changes that impact the capability of the joint.
The Student will understand the various components that go into the construction of a Joint Diagram and be able to 'read' and use a Joint Diagram.
Engineers will be exposed to practical design examples, key considerations, turbine specific CTQs and common errors to avoid.
This class will only focus on BOLTED JOINT design
